Fall 2007:
Serge was awarded the ESA SEEDS Undergraduate Research
Fellowship. Thank you!
Charlee and Anne attended the ESA SEEDS fieldtrip to the University of California- Santa Barbara's Coastal LTER.

We co-sponsored the Department of Natural Sciences Final Exam Study Day.
CSU Clean-Up Day
We had another super awesome good time at Coweeta LTER.
We visited Fernbank Science Museum.
We joined CSSA at the Activities Fair where we recruited new members and
passed out these flyers and
other SEEDS/Ecology brochures.
CSU SEEDS went on a wildflower hike at Panola Mountain.
Dr. Boudell and Serge gave a presentation on the ESA SEEDS program, CSU
SEEDS and ongoing ecological research at CSU to Georgia Perimeter College
Science Club.
CSU SEEDS held a successful Bake Sale. And, who wouldn't want our
baked goods? Thanks to everyone who donated baked goods!

Spring & Summer 2007:
Serge and Dr. Boudell represented the CSU SEEDS chapter at the
2007 ESA meeting in San Jose, California. Dr. Boudell also presented her
research at the meeting. ESA SEEDS awarded travel awards to both
Serge and Dr. Boudell. Thank you!
CSU SEEDS went on a most awesome camping trip to Black
Rock Mountain.
We co-sponsored the Department of Natural Sciences Final Exam Study Day.
We had a super awesome good time at Coweeta LTER. We
also visited Tallulah Gorge on our way back.
Katherine Hoffman and Jorge Ramos of ESA SEEDS came out to
visit our chapter and our campus. They gave a presentation on
opportunities in ecology and the SEEDS program to SEEDS members, Dr.
Kodani's Ecology class, education majors, and other interested
students. We visited local research sites and Reynold's Nature
Preserve. We ended the evening with a dinner at Carrabas. Thank you
SEEDS!!!
We went to the Georgia Aquarium. fun! -thanks ESA
SEEDS!
We were an exhibitor at Earth Day where we passed out
flyers, discussed CSU SEEDS, and discussed our research projects.
SEEDS and CSSA members volunteered at Noah's Ark in March.
Our ESA SEEDS maintenance proposal was funded. yay!!
We held a bake sale in February and raised over $100.00.

Fall 2006:
We passed out flyers and recruited members at the new
student orientation in December..
Our web site was launched.
CSU SEEDS members visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens along with CSSA
members.
Serge and Dr. Boudell attended the Coweeta LTER field trip.
CSU SEEDS was highlighted in the October
issue of the SEEDS Newsletter.
We finally erected and decorated our bulletin board. It's located in
the Business & Health Science building near the chemistry labs.
We joined CSSA at the Activities Fair where we recruited new members and
passed out these flyers.
The CSU SEEDS chapter became officially recognized as a separate entity
from the CSSA.
Charlee Glenn and Dr. Boudell represented the CSU SEEDS chapter at the
2006 ESA meeting in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Boudell also presented her
research at the meeting.

Spring 2006: -in conjunction with CSSA
The CSSA, including SEEDS members, participated in a walk-a-thon to
support diabetes research. We
sponsored 12 lyceum speakers who gave presentations to our seminar class
(and all who wanted to attend). We
sent 6 students to meetings such as the Southeastern Bat Diversity Network
and American Society for Microbiology.
Most of these students presented their research.
One student won the American Society for Microbiology Southeastern
Branch President’s Award for Undergraduate Poster Presentations.
CSSA/SEEDS members participated in the on-campus Earth Day event.
We went on a field trip to the new Georgia Aquarium.
We also attended Bodies the
Exhibition at the
Atlanta
Civic
Center
. We secured funding to send
our SEEDS chapter representative, Charlee, to the 2006 ESA conference.
Also, our chapter sponsor, Dr. Boudell, was awarded a travel
funding grant by the ESA SEEDS program to attend the ESA meeting.
CSSA/SEEDS and the Department of Natural Sciences sponsored a
picnic for alumni and graduating seniors.
We went on a canoeing trip of Juniper Springs and Homosassa in
Florida
in May. The CSU SEEDS chapter obtained
official status on March 14, 2006.
